VIP Crowd Employee Spotlight: Sara Kerwin
How did you end up working in your field and at VIP Crowd?
I’ve always been interested in psychology and communication, and in general, understanding why people do the things they do. Marketing is the perfect balance between analytical thinking and creative execution. It allows me to get nerdy in the data, and turn around and come up with creative ways to get better results.
I ended up at VIP Crowd because I used to work with Mark and some of the VIP Crowd team previously. I always enjoyed working with them, so when the opportunity to join the VIP Crowd team came up, it was a no-brainer.
What is your favorite part about working at VIP Crowd?
Being able to help build and sell a product that I truly believe in. I don’t just market VIP Crowd — I actually use VIP Crowd, and it helps me do my job better.
Tell us about your role at VIP Crowd.
Since we’re a startup, a lot of my focus is on making sure we’re positioned correctly in the marketplace. I make sure our messaging is resonating, that we’re talking to the right people, providing the right resources, etc. It’s a lot of research and a lot of writing.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I love working out, cooking, spending time with my family, going hiking, and trying to control my online shopping addiction. I’m an introvert and a bit of a homebody, so I’m pretty content just being home with my husband, our 18-month-old son, dog, and two cats.
What is one of the coolest things you’ve ever done/experienced?
Becoming a mom is the obvious answer. Growing up, I took dance lessons and got to perform on stages across the midwest, which was a pretty amazing experience. Hiking through Olympic National Park and backpacking part of the Ice Age Trail are definitely at the top of my list as well.
